councel - a lawyer giving a legal advice in a court case

attorney - laywer representing a client

advocate - lawyer who pleads a case on behalf of a client in court

solicitor - British lawyer at a lower court

barrister - British lawyer at a superior court

public prosecutor - government laywer who argues the case against the accused in a criminal trial

lodger - someone who pays to live in a house with the person who owns it. The usual American word for roomer.

tenant - someone who rents a flat , hoiuse, office, piece of land etc. from the person who owns it.

boarder - someone who pays to live in a house as a guest of the family who owns it.
