Words not to be confused... law, housing
- councel - a lawyer giving a legal advice in a court case
- attorney - laywer representing a client
- advocate - lawyer who pleads a case on behalf of a client in court
- solicitor - British lawyer at a lower court
- barrister - British lawyer at a superior court
- public prosecutor - government laywer who argues the case against the accused in a criminal trial
- lodger - someone who pays to live in a house with the person who owns it. The usual American word for roomer.
- tenant - someone who rents a flat , hoiuse, office, piece of land etc. from the person who owns it.
- boarder - someone who pays to live in a house as a guest of the family who owns it.
